Dining in and around the BADA Fair
The BADA Fair is opening this week! Within the Fair the a la carte Cellini Restaurant will be serving a fantastic selection of freshly prepared traditional English dishes for lunch each day. To book call 01233 662166. The Duke of York Brasserie will also be offering teas, coffees, freshly made soup and other refreshments.

Also, the Duke of York Square itself offers a range of options, one of which is the contemporary Italian restaurant Manicomio. It's cuisine is created with ingredients and produce specifically sourced and imported from Italy resulting in a unique and authentic menu, food ranges from homemade pasta and risotto, fresh meat and fish, to mouth-watering desserts.

Curator of the Lord Ashcroft Collection, Mr Naxton to talk at the BADA Fair
Michael Naxton, Curator of the Ashcroft Collection of Gallantry Awards will be giving a talk on 'The Lord Ashcroft Medal Collection: One Man's Passion For Bravery' at 11 am on March 28th. Lord Ashcroft purchased his first Victoria Cross (VC) in 1986 and his first Special Forces' award, the Distinguished Service Medal bestowed on Corporal Bill Sparks, Royal Marines, for his part in the 'Cockleshell Heroes' raid of 1942, two years later.

Thereafter, many similar medals were acquired, with the result that Lord Ashcroft has created the world's largest collection of 164 VCs from its institution in 1856 to modern times. The Ashcroft VC Collection is housed in the Imperial War Museum, but the Special Forces' awards have not yet been seen in public. This will be the first opportunity to unveil some of these medals and to appreciate the men who won them. For tickets tel: 020 7589 6108
 
Curator of the Schroder Collection, Mrs Lambert to talk at the BADA Fair
The Curator of the Schroder Collection, Deborah Lambert, will be giving a talk on 'The Schroder Collection: A Family Affair' on March 24th at 11am. Assembled over four generations of the family, the Schroder Collection could more accurately be called a ‘collection of collections’. The magnificent early European silver is well known, but this talk, together with items in the BADA Antiques & Fine Art Fair’s loan exhibition, will introduce works from these ‘collections’ that have rarely, if ever, been seen in public. Country Life Editor Dr Goodall to talk at the BADA Fair
At 11 am on March 25th, architectural editor of Country Life, Dr John Goodall, will be giving a talk on the evolution of the 21st-Century Country House. The rich tradition of English country house architecture has continued to evolve into the 21st century. In his role as architectural editor of COUNTRY LIFE, John Goodall has had the opportunity to see many of the finest new private houses completed over the last decade. In this talk he will discuss the changing character of this architectural tradition and the varied architectural idioms that owners have explored in creating their perfect 21st-century home. Dates for 2012 Fair confirmed
DIARY UPDATE: The BADA Antiques & Fine Art Fair is pleased to confirm that the dates for the next Fair are Wednesday 21 March – Tuesday 27 March 2012, at the Duke of York Square. The BADA Fair is the UK’s premier national art and antiques fair and the showcase for approximately 100 members of the prestigious British Antique Dealers’ Association.

New Fair Chairman for 2013
BADA Fair to have new Chairman

Laura Bordignon has been appointed as the new Chairman of the BADA Antiques & Fine Art Fair. Laura has been exhibiting at the Fair since 2001 and has been a Director since 2009.  She is Italian and deals in Japanese art and will bring a strong international following to this British event.

Charity Gala Evening A Success
Charity Gala Evening in aid of HITS a success
 The Charity Gala Evening, held on Thursday 22 March 2012, in aid of HITS (Head Injury Through Sport) was a huge success with over £83,000 raised on the evening for this worthwhile cause.  
 
House & Garden Event Sell Out
The 'House & Garden Style Report' is a sell out

The House & Garden Style Report event, held at the 2012 BADA Fair on Thursday 22 March was a sell out.  More than 40 people booked in advance to hear Carole Annett and Julia Page give a presentation on the current trends in interior design. They provided a rare glimpse into the work that goes into producing features in one of the UK's favourite lifestyle magazines as well as giving some top tips on emerging styles and designers to watch. They also spoke about how to use antiques in contemporary settings, drawing on examples from within the Fair.
