"The New Collectors"

There are few people who haven't enjoyed creating a collection at some point in their lives, even if just stamps as a child. The things that can form a collection are limitless but as collectors mature, the focus of their interest often shifts, with art and antiques sitting centrally for many.

The unique selling points of arts and antiques fairs

A late 19th century walking cane handle - from Sandra Cronan

"At the time that this cane handle was made, a cane was far more than a walking aid, rather an important fashion accessory and indicator of wealth. The Country Life Talk confirmed for 2016

Country Life's, architectural editor, Dr John Goodall, will return to the BADA Fair in 2016 and talk about his new book on Parish Churches and their treasures.

'Our parish churches constitute a living patrimony without precise European parallel, their architecture and fittings the product of sustained patronage that, in some cases, demonstrably extends back well over a millennium. Fine art and architecture here combine unpredictably with the functional, the curious and the naïve, to form what is in effect a national museum that - unlike all its institutional rivals – presents its contents in an everyday setting without curators or formal displays'.

House & Garden partnership set to continue for 2016.
