BADA Fair Events

The Events programme for the 2016 BADA Fair will be available in the Autumn 2015. The 2015 BADA Fair events were: 

 

'Not so Shabby Chic: Juxtaposing the Old and New'

With Viv Lawes, curator, NADFAS lecturer and arts journalist.

 

'Hollywood Style - Jewellery and Fashion from 1929 to 1959'

With Andrew Prince, jewellery designer.

 

'The Hidden Treasures of Lichfield Cathedral'

With Dr John Goodall, Architectural Editor, Country Life.

Marie Curie to be beneficiary charity for 2016

The BADA Fair is delighted to announce that Marie Curie will be its chosen charity for 2016.  

 

Over the last 60 years, Marie Curie has helped hundreds of thousands of people and families.  Marie Curie Nurses work night and day, in people’s homes across the UK, providing hands-on care and vital emotional support and their hospices offer specialist round-the-clock care. 

 

The BADA Fair will host a charity gala event on Thursday 10 March 2016 and full details will be available on the website soon. 

 
2016 Loan Exhibition confirmed

Sir Gordon Russell: Visionary pioneer of British 20th Century Design.

Gordon Russell combined skill, innovation and vision with national design leadership through a time of radical change.

A collection of pieces from the 1920s, loaned by private collections, will form the 2016 BADA Fair Loan Exhibition and will demonstrate Russell's finest personal work.  Form, honest design and superb craftsmanship supported by rarity, original archive records and discerning provenance have ensured strong and enduring interest.

 
New Exhibitors Lead Strong Sales at the 2015 BADA Fair

1 April 2015 


The 2015 BADA Fair closed on Tuesday 24 March 2015 after seven days of busy trading. The 99 BADA members exhibiting reported good sales throughout the event, to a wealth of international visitors.  Jeremy Taylor of The Taylor Gallery reported the best Fair of his entire career, preparing invoices totalling almost £1million whilst new Exhibitor Peter Lipitch sold their most important item of furniture, a George III marquetry ormolu-mount commode made by Henry Hill of Marlborough c. 1775, for a six-figure sum.

 

Several Exhibitors have reported on important sales being concluded after the Fair, illustrating the event's importance to the UK art market.

‘House & Garden Designers’ Selection 2015

The House & Garden Designers Selection at the BADA Fair

Continuing a long-standing partnership with House & Garden Magazine, The BADA Fair was delighted to host four leading interior designers, invited by House & Garden to select their favourite pieces from the 99 BADA members’ exhibiting, before it opened to the public.

 

The panel was made up of Douglas Mackie of Douglas Mackie Designs, Bill Bennette of Bill Bennette Design Limited – a leading Interior Design Practice; Emma Burns, a Director of Colefax & Fowler and Tom Carey, the KLC’s top student of 2014, graduating with an array of industry awards including the Heals Award for Bespoke Design.

 

The interior designers visited the BADA Fair the day before it opened and selected their favourite pieces – pieces which demonstrated unique style, flair, craftsmanship and individuality.
