Event A: 'From Downton to Gatsby' – Jewellery and fashion
from 1890 to 1929
With Andrew Prince, Jewellery Designer  
Andrew Prince will illustrate the intimate connections between the great jewellers, couture houses and the people and events that shaped this amazing period.
 
 
Event B:  'In Love & War' - A Guide to the Loan Exhibition 
With Colonel Peter Walton, Military Art Historian
Peter Walton uses his knowledge of historical military dress to put these works of art into context to help identify the subjects.
 
 
Event C: The Country Life Talk
With Dr John Goodall, Architectural Editor, Country Life
John Goodall will consider the revival of interest in Georgian art, architecture and furniture in the early 20th century and the central role played by Country Life and its specialist writers.

“One of the outstanding pieces that we have would be a very large cabinet. It’s a very important piece of furniture because it was designed by Owen Jones, who is one of the leading 19th Century architects and designers. This piece is the largest piece of furniture known to have been designed by him and was designed for a specific house, 16 Carlton House Terrace, a house that is now owned by the Hinduja brothers.

New 'Objects of Desire' feature launched

BADA Fair Exhibitors talk about their favourite pieces in this new feature on the BADA Fair website.

 

Each month, the BADA Fair will invite Exhibitors to give a special preview of an exceptional work of art or antique. They will share their knowledge and explain what makes a piece unique and special. 

 

The first piece is an Owen Jones Cabinet belonging to Harris Lindsay Ltd.
